Slumping Sun Sox Lose Again
Matt Durgan had a 3-RBI game, during Tampa Bay's 8-3 triumph over the Miami Sun Sox. Durgan contributed 2 singles, 1 double, and 1 walk to his team's cause. Bobby Cates, the winning pitcher, improved to 3-2. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 5. Nelson Castro earned his 3rd save, after closing out the game.

Justin Gifford had a big 2-run double for the Thunder in the bottom of the first inning. With Tampa Bay leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Julian Branscomb and swatted a double to right. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Thunder ahead, 3-0.

"No one likes losing," said Miami manager Anthony Sexton. "We've hit a tough patch, but we're going to get through it."
