Seattle Tags San Diego with 6-4 Defeat
Seattle starter Sam Payno pitched effectively against the San Diego Roadrunners at Tony Gywnn Park. The left-hander led his team to a win, 6-4. Payno, now 2-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 4 runs. Tyler Hemrick earned the save, his 3rd.

The Gulls benefited from a costly error in the top of the third. With Andrew O'Neal at bat and Seattle leading 3-0, the San Diego miscue allowed Seattle to plate 2 and take the lead, 5-0.

Payno told the Seattle Bulletin: "Sometimes the big stage is not big enough for me."
