In a low-scoring affair between the Arizona Suns and the Denver Cutthroats, pitcher Mark Christie was the difference between victory and defeat. The Arizona right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Suns win. The 8th-place Suns lifted their record to 11-13.

It could have been a different outcome for Arizona, had it not been for Remie Broers, the three-time All-Star . Broers contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Arizona up, 3-0.
