The Toronto Titans have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading St. Louis Lions, winning, 9-7, at The Lions Hearth. Titans left fielder Felipe Rodriguez went 3 for 3 with a triple, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs. The win cuts the deficit facing the Titans to 3-1 in the best-of-7 Cup Qualifier.

With Toronto leading 5-2 in the top of the fifth, Diego Perez hit a 2-run triple off St. Louis pitcher Benno de Smit. It put the Titans ahead 7-2.

"It was a good day but I'm not letting my guard down," Perez said. "I'll let my guard down as soon as someone puts a big, fat championship ring on my finger."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Lions Hearth in St. Louis.
