El Paso got a terrific game from shortstop Skylar Cole. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to San Diego, 5-4. Cole slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Ray Escamilla picked up his 1st save of the season. With the loss, El Paso sinks to 5-5.

Matt Jackson aided the San Diego cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh. For the game, the second baseman was 1-2 with a double.

San Diego manager Larry Link called it "a darn good win."
