The Gothams grabbed a win, 8-2, at Damar Park, overcoming a fine effort from Miami pitcher Isaiah Johnson. Johnson went 5.1 innings and allowed no runs. Jian-gun Fou, the winner, goes to 2-1. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts over 7 innings. The Sun Sox drop to 5-5 and continue their mediocre start to the 2026 season.

In the bottom of the first, 28-year old first baseman Cody Davenport hit a 2-run double. The 4th double of the season for the New York City first baseman put the Gothams on top, 2-0.

"They just got us," said Miami manager Anthony Sexton, "and that's all I can say."
