Joel Peterson was instrumental in his team's 7-3 triumph over the Detroit Motors. The first baseman went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Chicago Union. Jon Naugle went 6.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits. The right-hander, who finished 5th in the EC in wins with 12 in 2024, struck out 5 and walked 2. With the win, he's now 3-0 this season. The Motors fall to 4-6 and continue their rocky start to the 2026 season.

It could have been a different outcome for Chicago, had it not been for Luke Partee, the 32-year old catcher . Partee contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put Chicago up, 3-0.

"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Peterson.
