The Denver Cutthroats got their 2026 Professional Baseball Circuit season off to a good start, defeating the San Diego Roadrunners, 11-10. Stephen Barker set the pace. He was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Junro Yano, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2.

Denver got a clutch hit from Jose Cruz. The catcher launched a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.
