It's Over! Tampa Bay (R) Defeats Seattle (R) Wednesday, October 15th , 2025 Sometimes the winner is the one who got the lucky bounces and the lucky calls, and sometimes the winner is just the one who played better. It was the latter case in 2025, as the Tampa Bay (R) Thunder topped the Seattle (R) Gulls 3-2 tonight at PBC Rookie Development Complex to win the Championship Cup. It was the 1st title in franchise history. "When you play for championships, you have to play better than the team in the other dugout. We did that in this series, and all year. Now we're the best team in baseball," said Tampa Bay (R) right fielder Jon Barajas, who was named series MVP. The Thunder took the series 4-1. The new titleholders completed the regular season with a second-place finish in the RCL East and a 64-46 record. Tampa Bay (R) manager Brandon Land grinned and nodded when asked to comment on Barajas's words. "Jon said it best -- we played better than the other team," the skipper said.
