Gulls Prevail, as Cup Qualifier Goes to the Wire Wednesday, October 8th , 2025 The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat were on full display tonight at PBC Rookie Development Complex as the Cup Qualifier stretched to the final game. It was the Seattle (R) Gulls feeling the thrill of victory, with a 6-4 win over the Minnesota (R) Loons, who were feeling the devastation of coming up short in their quest to make the Championship Cup. "There's no way around it -- this sucks," said Minnesota (R) manager Tommy Pyle. "Congratulations to Seattle (R), but I won't sugarcoat it, no one is happy about anything that transpired here tonight." Instrumental in the 4-3 series win was third baseman Chris Manship, who was named MVP. He hit .464 with a .516 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 6 runs. "We've got the most important stat of all and that's this final win -- that's the one that matters," he said.
