Knights End Stewart Streak Wednesday, September 24th , 2025 It was the best of both worlds for the New York Knights at Canadians Park, as they defeated the Sherbrooke Canadians, 9-6, and also snapped Preston Stewart's 33-game hitting streak. The 30-year-old Sherbrooke shortstop failed to get a hit in 5 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Stewart, we just wanted to win the game," said Knights skipper Jack Coleman. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Stewart frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." Stewart is currently hitting at a .302 pace with 17 home runs, 80 RBIs and has scored 82 times. |
