Lee Rips Calgary for 5 Hits
|
The Green Bay Braves stopped the Calgary Caracals by a score of 9-3 at Caracals Stadium, with the lion's share of the credit going to second baseman Randy Lee. The 30-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Lee said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Lee did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Caracals.
"Not much that I can say," offered Calgary manager Bert Collier. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Randy Lee singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 9th.
For the season, Lee has hit .245 with 8 home runs and 26 RBIs. He has played in 49 games and scored 24 times.
