Carter Bashes 5 Base Hits
|
The 5th time was not the charm for John Carter.
The center fielder for the Winnipeg Buffaloes hit the milestone at Goldeyes Park, but it was the Edmonton Drillers that salvaged a 6-5 victory. Carter finished with a 5-for-5 line at the plate, and it still wasn't enough.
"He was not an easy out, that's for sure," Edmonton manager Matt Driggs said to the press in the postgame interview. "I'm just glad we held everybody else in check and got the win."
Carter declined to speak to reporters at length following the game, saying only that "no loss is a good one."
John Carter singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Thus far this year, Carter has hit .333 with 2 home runs and 4 RBIs.
