In a seemingly effortless performance, John Toepfer of the Brooklyn Atlantics shot down the Manhattan Liberty, 7-0, on 6 hits.

"John was just locating so well and using his pitches," Brooklyn manager Greg Claussen said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."

Toepfer recorded 8 strikeouts and 2 walks in a strong outing.

"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Manhattan manager Chuichi Yamamoto said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."

This year, Toepfer has a 3-3 record with a 5.70 ERA.
