Morgan Smacks 5 Hits for Sun Sox Tuesday, July 2nd , 2024 It was almost a perfect day for Iestyn Morgan. The Miami (R) catcher displayed a hot bat, enjoying an outstanding 5-hit day, but something was missing: The Sun Sox lost to the Philadelphia (R) Keystones, 15-12. Morgan told BNN reporters after the game that luck was "fickle." Miami (R) manager John Barnett told the beat writers otherwise. "There was no luck today," the skipper said. "He got 5 hits because he has a solid approach to hitting and he put it all together, and we lost because the rest of us didn't put it together so well." Iestyn Morgan hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Tom Nelson in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Tom Nelson in the 9th.
