Houston (R) Takes Cup Qualifier in Deciding Game Thursday, October 10th , 2024 Houston (R) Mavericks won a nail-biting series against the Denver (R) Cutthroats 4-3, wrapping up the Cup Qualifier finale 4-1 at PBC Rookie Development Complex. Mavericks third baseman Luis Garcia was named the series MVP. He batted .400, drove in 2 runs and scored 6 to lead Houston (R) into the next round of play. "Luis was real solid for us, real solid," said Mavericks manager Jose Gonzalez. "I normally say I'd like to have nine of him out there, but thankfully we got by with just one this time."
