Pat Smith Out for Season Sunday, September 22nd , 2024 The season is finished for Pat Smith of the El Paso (R) Diablos. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Diablos reliever suffered a torn flexor tendon in his elbow while throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Minnesota (R) Loons. Team doctors said it would take at least 13 months to heal. Smith has taken the mound for 18 relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 6-1 record with a 3.33 ERA. The El Paso (R) reliever has limited opposing batters to a .246 batting average. |
