Saldivar Goes Deep 3 Times Sunday, August 18th , 2024 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the San Francisco (R) Peanuts. Las Vegas (R) catcher Armando Saldivar tripled up on the home runs to propel the Aces to a win, 17-6, at PBC Rookie Development Complex. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," San Francisco (R) manager Cris Jauregui said. "Saldivar hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Saldivar collected 4 hits in 5 at-bats, 5 RBIs and scored 5 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Armando Saldivar hit a solo-shot off Nelson Balderrama in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Nelson Balderrama in the 4th, walked in the 6th, flied out in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Alex Aguilar in the 9th. Currently Saldivar is batting .266 with 7 home runs, 19 RBIs and 23 runs scored. |
