Dobens Swings for the Cycle Saturday, July 27th , 2024 Brad Dobens won the battle against the Los Angeles (R) Knights, but lost the war. The Houston (R) Mavericks shortstop hit for the cycle, but it wasn't enough to bring home victory. The Mavericks fell to the Knights, 7-6, at PBC Rookie Development Complex. "Brad did great but we couldn't put everything together today," Houston (R) manager Jose Gonzalez said after the game. Dobens collected 4 hits -- 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run -- plus 1 RBI and 2 runs scored. Brad Dobens grounded out in the 1st, tripled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, doubled in the 7th, hit a solo-shot off Josh Maxwell in the 9th and singled in the 11th.
