5-Hit Barrage by Skuse Friday, July 19th , 2024 Bert Skuse of the Indianapolis (R) Clowns went on a hitting spree against the Detroit (R) Motors pitching staff, racking up 5 hits in 6 at-bats, but to no avail -- the Motors put a damper on his day and prevailed, 6-5, over the Clowns. "It was a heck of a day and I was kind of looking forward to a better ending than that," he said later. Bert Skuse hit an RBI single in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Leon Lemus in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit a solo-shot off Humberto Pintor in the 9th and singled in the 11th.
