Bad Behavior Costs Asper and Czap Monday, July 15th , 2024 Yesterday at Central Park Matt Asper and Josh Czap got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Franklin Knights and Manhattan Liberty. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Asper will have to sit out 2 while Czap would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. Asper is batting .275 this year with 7 home runs, 20 RBIs and 16 runs scored. He has 28 hits in 102 at-bats. In the current season in 19 starts, Josh Czap has a record of 9-4 with 93 strikeouts in 120.2 innings and a 3.73 ERA. |
