Najera Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Manhattan Monday, July 1st , 2024 Manchester second baseman Marcos Najera was held hitless in today's game by the Manhattan Liberty, but the loss of his 26-game hitting streak was eased by the 7-0 Monarchs victory at Central Park. "I don't care about the streak, and one 0-for-0 day isn't a big deal," he said later. "But I'm going to come in early tomorrow for some extra batting practice to keep this from turning into a slump." This season, Najera has posted a batting average of .245 with 85 hits in 347 at-bats, 9 home runs and 41 RBIs. He has also scored 38 runs, walked 16 times and compiled a .285 OBP. |
