Barajas Torches Atlantics for 5 Hits Friday, June 21st , 2024 Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Luis Barajas of the St. Petersburg Pelicans had one of those moments when he went 5-for-6 at the plate in his team's 16-4 win over the Brooklyn Atlantics at Ballpark of St. Petersburg. "I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 20-year-old right fielder told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years." Luis Barajas singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th. This season, Barajas has banged out 74 hits in 251 at-bats for a .295 average with 8 home runs. He is getting on base at a .343 pace and his totals also include 34 RBIs and 38 runs scored.
