Amundson of San Diego Named Best Pitcher Monday, September 23rd , 2024 The Western Amateur Circuit announced today that Justin Amundson has been chosen the Pitcher of the Year Award winner for 2024. The San Diego starter had everything working for him this past season as he breezed to a 10-4 record. In his award-winning season Amundson crafted a 3.07 ERA in 120.1 innings with 109 strikeouts and 62 walks. Opposing batters hit .221 against him in his 19 starts. He received 4 first place votes out of a possible 20. Mario Mejia of the Hollywood Stars finished second in voting with 9 first place votes, while Roberto Vasquez of the Hollywood Stars finished third with 7 first place votes.
