Payton Grabs WAC Reliever of the Year Award Friday, September 20th , 2024 Bobby Payton of the Hollywood Stars said he never set out to win the Western Amateur Circuit Reliever of the Year Award this season, but he'll certainly take it. "2024 was a pretty good year for me, that much is obvious," he said. "This is icing on the cake." The 28-year-old out of Holly Springs, North Carolina fashioned a 2.50 ERA this season over 86.1 innings of work. He made 50 relief appearances and had 13 saves, 95 strikeouts, 30 walks and a record of 9 wins and 7 losses. He received 20 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Motka Rovner of the New Orleans Buccaneers finished second in voting, while Chris Vogler of the New Orleans Buccaneers finished third.
