Franklin's Mendel Injured, Out of Lineup Thursday, August 15th , 2024 A blow for Bob Mendel today -- team doctors confirmed he will miss 4-5 months with a torn labrum. Mendel suffered the injury throwing a pitch. Although officials from the Franklin Knights are confident he'll make a full recovery, doubts will persist about Mendel's ability to return fully fit with an injury of this nature. Mendel has taken the mound for 28 relief appearances this season, nailing down 6 saves while notching a 3-3 record with a 3.80 ERA. The Franklin reliever has limited opposing batters to a .226 batting average. |
