Allentown, New York Agree to Swap Thursday, November 14th , 2024 You can't always get what you want, but sometimes you find a deal anyway. The Baseball News Network is reporting that Allentown and New York have made a swap with 28-year old RF Tony Valdez being shipped to the Knights and in return the Fleetwings would get 31-year old LHP Kahakuokahale Molias. Allentown general manager Ken Lundy said the two sides were close to a blockbuster trade before agreeing upon a smaller scale transaction. "This is just a bit of housekeeping compared to what we wanted to do," he said. "I won't name names, but the potential deal we were close to making would have certainly grabbed some headlines." A source inside the Allentown organization said the two sides might not be done dealing, and another transaction could be in the works. For his 243-game career Valdez has hit .295 with 258 hits, 141 RBIs, and 48 home runs. His career totals show Molias has 13 victories and 11 defeats with a 3.91 ERA. |
