St. Louis right-hander Kevin Schuerger pitched his team to victory over the Houston Mavericks at The Lions Hearth. The final score was 3-2. St. Louis, with the win, is 6-1.
Eddie Martinez, who finished 5th in the EC in batting average with .324 in 2019, took Houston hurler David Gill deep in the bottom of the second. His 2-run home run put the Lions on top, 2-0. In all, Martinez had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
