Los Angeles center fielder Mike Scarborough was sensational. He hit 2 home runs. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. St. Louis beat the Knights, 7-4. The Lions improved their record to 45-38 with the win over Los Angeles.

St. Louis took a 7-4 lead on Scott Poppe's 9th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Poppe hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Los Angeles pitcher Quincy Brooks visibly frustrated.

"You can never predict what'll happen," Poppe said. "That's why you play the game."
