The Tampa Bay Thunder knocked off the New York City Gothams, 5-2, at Damar Park. It took 12 innings. Adam Seiler was a prime reason Tampa Bay won. The left fielder went 4-6 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Marcello Cowell picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-2. Jayden Johnson, who finished 3rd in the EC in saves with 14 in 2020, was tagged with the loss. The win elevated the Thunder to 41-40.

Seiler had a game-changing home run in the top of the 12th. On a 1-1 sinker from Jayden Johnson, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Thunder a 5-2 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Seiler.

Seiler told a Tampa Bay Herald reporter that he felt "ecstatic" after the win.
