Indianapolis 5-2 Losers to Union

Chicago and Indianapolis duked it out and the Union came out victorious.
The exploits of left fielder Edwin Sanchez, who is tied for 3rd in the EC in bases on balls with 46, helped the Chicago Union defeat the Indianapolis Clowns, 5-2. Sanchez went 3-3 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Jason Zierer went 8.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits. The right-hander, who is tied for 8th in the EC with a 9.0 K/9 rate, struck out 10 and walked 4. With the win, he's now 10-5 this season.
The Union had to work out of trouble in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 5-2, Chicago, with no one out. Indianapolis, with a runner on 1st, was mounting a threat. Gerardo Carvajal dug in at the plate, but on a 1-2 curveball, he hit into a double play.
The Union bumped their record to 39-35 with this latest triumph.
