Philadelphia got a terrific game from first baseman Alfredo Zamarripa. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Nashville, 5-4. Zamarripa was 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times. Brandon Hooks was the winner. Over 6.2 innings, he yielded 3 runs on 4 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. Nashville, with the win, climbs to 21-52.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Daniel Caballero? The 23-year old center fielder Caballero stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put Nashville up, 5-3. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"You can never predict what'll happen," Caballero said. "That's why you play the game."
