Serrano Drills 2 Homers in 7-2 Los Angeles Win
|
The exploits of left fielder Sergio Serrano, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2022 draft, helped the Los Angeles Knights defeat the Houston Mavericks, 7-2. Serrano hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Picking up the win was Jonathan Woods. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits. The right--hander struck out 7 and walked 2. The Knights, now 38-32, have won 4 in a row.
It could have been a different outcome for Los Angeles, had it not been for Fernando Medina, the slugging first baseman . Medina contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the first inning to put Los Angeles up, 2-0.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Medina told the Los Angeles Daily. "You win just by scoring more runs."
