Miami got a big-time effort from pitcher Cesar Mijares, but it wasn't enough to keep the Tampa Bay Thunder from winning the game, 4-2. Mijares threw 7.0 innings allowing 1 run for the losing team. Tampa Bay reliever Dylan Smith picked up the win. Danny Bekers took the loss for Miami. Tampa Bay bumps their record to 38-31 with the win.

The decisive blow was delivered by Bob Gibbons in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run home run off fireballing right-hander Danny Bekers to win the game for Tampa Bay. The home crowd went nuts.

"I'm just trying to capitalize on opportunities and be as consistent as I can every day," said Gibbons.
