The Minnesota Loons downed the El Paso Diablos, 3-0, at The Asylum at Loons Ballpark. Stellar pitching by Shawn Holliday had a lot to do with it. The right-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. The winning pitcher was Holliday, now 5-5. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 3. Anthony Anderson wrapped it up, recording his 7th save.

Nestor Godziashvili took El Paso hurler Jian-gun Fou deep in the bottom of the fifth. His 2-run home run put the Loons on top, 2-0. In all, Godziashvili had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"Shawn really held it together well," said Minnesota manager Brian Hughes.

The 11th-place Loons now have a record of 25-43.
