Davenport Rips 2 Home Runs in 8-2 Gothams Triumph
Led by Cody Davenport, the New York City Gothams defeated the Indianapolis Clowns, 8-2. Davenport, a native of Napoleon, Ohio, went 3-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Gothams. New York City starter Jim Jordan was credited with the win after throwing 127 pitches over 9 innings. His record now stands at 5-6. The Gothams improved their record to 28-36 with the win over Indianapolis.

With New York City leading 1-0 in the top of the first, Davenport hit a sinker from Javier Mata for a 2-run home run. It was his 15th home run of the season and put the Gothams ahead, 3-0.

"We didn't help ourselves, it's as simple as that," said losing manager Matt Mays.
