The 2024 season did not get off to quite the start the Washington Warriors had hoped, with an opening day loss to the Indianapolis Clowns at Warriors Park. The final score was 6-1. Starting Pitcher Bernie Loyola was the top performer for Indianapolis. The winning pitcher was Loyola, now 1-0. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 10.

Indianapolis used a clutch at-bat from Brian Gilmour to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Clowns ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
