Juan Gelada of the San Diego (R) Roadrunners was on top of his game.

The 18-year-old tantalized the San Francisco (R) Peanuts with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest, shutting them out, 7-0.

"He had the changeup working," San Francisco (R) manager Cris Jauregui said in postgame comments. "You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower."

The San Diego (R) hurler had 3 strikeouts, gave up 2 walks and surrendered 7 hits in his complete-game effort.

Gelada told reporters after the game that "keeping the ball down is the key to being successful in this league."

"If you don't do that, they'll make you pay," he said.
