Diablos Use Late Rally to Win 9th Straight
|
Spirited fans greeted the Arizona Suns for their clash with the El Paso Diablos.
The El Paso Diablos scored a tight, 4-3 win versus the Arizona Suns at Desert Crown Park. El Paso pitcher Mark Brown held his own in the contest. Ashton Gray, who leads the WC in saves with 9, was the winner in relief. His record is now 5-4. The losing pitcher was Justin Simpson.
El Paso used the timely hitting of Eric Eriksen to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Diablos on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said El Paso manager Joe Peters.
The win for the Diablos raised their record to 32-10.
