The San Francisco Peanuts picked up a win at Garibaldi's Grounds, knocking off the San Diego Roadrunners, 8-3. Starting pitcher Kevin Keeth played a key role in the triumph. With the win, the Peanuts hiked their record to 32-25.

The Roadrunners had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Peanuts going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 28-year old second baseman Sergio Peniche came to the plate. Peniche hit a run-scoring double on a full count fastball from San Diego hurler Josh Hunt. It was Peniche's 7th double of the year.

San Francisco manager Keven Berman commended his team for "putting the pedal to the metal."
