In a tight contest at The Motor Yard, the New York City Gothams edged the Detroit Motors by the score of 5-4. New York City designated hitter Ray Osolin, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. George Spence earned the save for New York City, his 1st. The defeat makes Detroit 31-24.
Had Osolin not come through in the top of the seventh, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Osolin hit a 2-run single. The Gothams took the lead, 4-3, and never looked back.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Osolin. "And not try to do too much."
