Tom Shelton was a vital contributor to the 18-5 Chicago victory over Miami. The Union second baseman went 3-5 with a home run, a triple, and a double, while scoring 3 and driving in 6. Sergio Hernandez finished the game for Chicago and earned his 1st save. The win hiked the Chicago record to 25-25.

With Chicago leading 5-4 in the bottom of the fourth, Shelton hit a fastball from Arturo Jones for a bases-clearing triple. It was his 2nd triple of the season and put the Union ahead, 8-4.
