Clowns Get Dramatic 9-8 Triumph
The Indianapolis Clowns sent the home crowd home ecstatic.

Sam Abel added some punch to the Indianapolis offense, helping them outmuscle the Nashville Bluebirds, 9-8. In the game, Abel, who finished 2nd in the EC in doubles with 27 in 2021, was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Indianapolis sits in third place in the Eastern Circuit at 15-11.

The decisive blow was delivered by Brian Gilmour in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a bases-clearing double off 28-year old right-handed pitcher Chris Watkins to win the game for Indianapolis. The home crowd went nuts.

"We kept coming at guys," Indianapolis manager Matt Mays said. "We kept digging."
