Detroit Motors starter Ed Hill pitched effectively against the Nashville Bluebirds at Johnny Cash Field. The right-hander spearheaded his team's 6-2 win. Jordan Brown saved it for Detroit. Detroit is now 14-8. Nashville is 8-14.

Detroit used a well-timed hit by Jim Madore to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Motors ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"When I throw strikes I'm good, if I don't I'm not very good," said Hill. "So I just have to throw strikes."
