Fernando Palomino, despite pitching well, was dismayed with the outcome: a hard-fought, 2-1 Indianapolis Clowns defeat at the hands of the Detroit Motors at Blues Field. Ed Hill, the winner, is now 2-1. He struck out 4 and walked 4 over 5.1 innings, while allowing 1 run on 7 hits. Detroit, now 9-5, has played well in the early going.

It could have been a different outcome for Detroit, had it not been for Jayden Bowser, the 30-year old right fielder . Bowser contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Detroit up, 2-0.

"Tough loss," said Indianapolis manager Matt Mays. "The kind that burns a little inside."
