Hill, Motors Take Dramatic Game 2 for 2-0 Series Lead
The Detroit Motors got a strong game from starter Ed Hill, but it was some clutch hitting that ultimately delivered the win.

The Motors took the 4-3 win over the Chicago Union in Game 2 of the Cup Qualifier in a 13th inning walk-off. The win capped off a fine outing for the right-handed Hill. Hill threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball in the win, which gave the Motors a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 13th inning, when Detroit left fielder Jim Madore, facing Josh Kingsbury, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Motors the 4-3 win.

"That was fun, that was just good baseball," said Madore.

The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, October 15th , 2024 at Trident Field in Chicago.
