Cup Qualifier Game 1 Victory for Becker and Detroit
The Detroit Motors started the Cup Qualifier in style, downing the visiting Chicago Union at The Motor Yard by a score of 6-1 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Motors right-hander Geoff Becker threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball.

Jose Aleman, the Detroit second baseman, contributed a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 6-1, Motors. For the game, Aleman was 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI.

"Geoff was able to execute his pitches," said Detroit manager Sean Morgan. "Simple as that."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Motor Yard in Detroit.
