The St. Louis Lions got a great start from 34-year-old right-hander Ryan Williams, as St. Louis won the contest, 5-2, at Inferno Field. Williams threw 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball in the win, which allowed the Lions to grab a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

St. Louis used a timely hit from Victor Ocejo to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Lions ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"I like our moxie," said Lions manager Leo Cruz.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Inferno Field in El Paso.
