The Chicago Union started the Play-in Series in style, winning on the road against the Toronto Titans at Titans Fields by a score of 5-4 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Union left-hander Henrik Kuehnemund threw 8.1 innings allowing 4 runs.

Chicago used a well-timed hit by Jordan Blackwell to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Union ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Blackwell.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Titans Fields in Toronto.
