Doyle Cracks 5 Hits Monday, September 18th , 2023 Detroit (R) Motors shortstop Mark Doyle had a day to remember at PBC Rookie Development Complex, ripping apart the Boston (R) Shamrocks and sparking the 9-2 Motors win. Doyle wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-5. "I'm usually a first ball hitter," Doyle told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it." Mark Doyle singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 7th. This year, Doyle is batting .379 with 14 home runs.
